Conservative Sexy.
I ate cucumber for the first time around 20 years ago. Those were the days it was widely known only as an edible. Today, apparently it serves other purposes.
I do not know the appeal of same-sex (sexual) relationships, but for me it is laughable or even an irony that one would claim to neglect or abandon a thing, yet take up objects that function in substitute.
It is even a way of ascribing more power to that which you feign/claim to shun or desire less. As you go ridiculous length to substitute its function.
We hear of sperm banks and their single women patronage. We hear about surrogate mothers that carry babies for gay men. We know about Babymamas. We know about women that only need men to get them pregnant. How did it come to this? How did we strip partnership in parenthood down to the inevitable genetic contribution of cells, then afterwards, some people plan to take it up from their alone or with a same-sex partner.
I believe one of the leading causes of our problems as a society is that we have succeeded in breaking down things into components. And we choose for ourselves that which we consider essential, that which we can do without, that which we can reassign or substitute, that which we can neglect and that which we can do away with completely.
Lifestyles and choices are plain to see. But in the end, nobody admits the regret they feel, the guilt they live with and the choices they wish they rather made. Leaving the society with the illusion that their choices brought them so much happiness.
