KEMEN :THE FALLEN STAR OF BIG BROTHER NIGERIA.

I feel pity for Kemen, last weekend's incident has given us another picture of him.  This is Africa, worse still Nigeria, where everybody is pious and sanctimonious. We make a big deal of such happenings and vow never to forgive or forget.

I am not an adherent follower of the Big Brother show, but I do not see anything special about the events of the House. Just that there is a live stream of all their moves. People in the House are not less moral than an average person in the street who does all his "thingings" behind closed doors (without a rolling camera).

The consciousness of live courage wanes overtime and the Housemates begin to worry less about being seen all the time. I think that is what Big Brother Show is all about - keeping people together long enough for all their facade to wear off and they begin to show themselves the way they really are.

The disqualification of Kemen got me thinking, so Big Brother does not discourage sexual relations in the show, but only sanction unconsentual ones. The latter is applaudable, unconsentual sex is primitive, whether or not violence is involved. But the former is a bit worrisome. I do not blame those that question the value the Show profers. The organizers might have as well handed Bisola and that (her) guy medals for their 'under the sheet live action'. I suppose it improved their ratings.

For TBoss, honestly I do not know what to say. I would feel horrified if I woke up to learn that some guy tried "working" me while I was fast asleep. But a view of the incident gives an ambiguous interpretation. After TBoss raised her blanket and turned her back, one would think she had positioned for a back action.

Na wah to Big Brother shaa, the House has multiple cameras, why did they not give us the view from another angle in the House. Then discipline Kemen accordingly (ie still make him leave the House).  The show barely holds any moral standard, so they did not prove anything by washing Kemen's dirty linens in the public.

For a chance to win 100, 000USD, people can go great lengths. Like giving up your privacy, three months in-house bound (that is if you are not evicted ASAP), incommunicado with the outside world, interaction with strangers and forgoing sensual interactions that its temptation led Kemen to the mess, among other things. Anyway,  it's not all bad. They get to meet Celebrities who visit the House, they eat free food, and they gain popularity themselves, among other things. I am sure Kemen enjoyed all these while they lasted.

The road to success is never easy. Be it by participation in reality shows or in real hard work. So a toast to all the hustlers.
