FEMALE BLOOD – MONEY
Blood money, smh. That thing sef. I see it as the most
desperate cut to wealth. Its wind used to be very strong in the 90’s, and times
before then. I think there are other means of laying hands on immense wealth
these days, like politics, oil money, etc, so that slowed down its reign. The
art (Blood money) has changed form and all, but of course, people still turn to
spiritual means to better their fortune.
Poverty they say “na Bastard”. Its reality pushes people to
great lengths in an effort to escape it. I cannot say “I understand” people
that turn to rituals, but well, let’s leave it at that.
Blood money is not easy, if it were, more people would have
tried it out. From what we see on Nollywood, the most prized requirement is
usually killing your mother, wife or son(they hardly require daughter, I don’t
know why). Faced with stack poverty and in dire desperation, people fulfill
these requirements. It does not always require blood shed though, sometimes it
may require very daunting tasks. Tasks more daunting than crossing 7 mountains
and 7 seas. Well, like we all know,(some) people succeed, at least for a while.
You know what they say, “what a man can do, a woman can do
(even) better”. So women also try out their fortune in the mystic of wealth
creation. The one that weakens me the most is the female-version of blood money
where women go great lengths to fulfill “spiritual requirements” just to gain
favor before men who would be generous to them.
Personally, I have always seen Prostitution as a “no-no”.
Not sex ooooooo, prostitution. I consider it debasing to say the least. Then a
woman would go through all the effort of “spiritual back-up” only for her to
still be required to continue with her usual “trade”.
Mba nu!!!
It’s like a Barrow-pusher doing blood money and is still
expected to continue pushing Barrow. That almost does not sound logical.
Shouldn’t everything become easy once you kill your mother, husband, or son? Or
maybe after you have traded your friend’s destiny. I thought for the men they
automatically get a coveted room where someone begins to vomit money for them.
Or maybe Containers they did not “throw” would begin to arrive safely from the
high seas. Why should women “sign-up” for anything different?
Anyway, back to my point, I just don’t understand. Some
women go for the one that would make them “catch” rich husbands or boyfriends.
Or another version that makes them to “ask and receive” from anyone, anything
they ask. And I wonder, if you have the mind to explore blood money, why don’t
you just hit the jackpot yourself for Heaven’s sake? Why make all the effort
just for the generosity of another person. Generosity that you are still going
to trade your body for.
Well, the desperation to turn to blood money is already hard
for my (little) brain to grasp. I am left even more confused to the female
version of doing juju for the generosity of “customers”.
