PRAY AS YOU GO

I know given my age, experience and status(wink),this might come as a surprise to you.
I have never entered a plane before. Not one bound for a local or international flight. Not even the one parked at a hangar.
So please hope you will forgive my ignorance because I would really want to know.
Abeg them dey pray open prayer for inside plane immediately the flight takes off. I mean the kind of prayer that is prayed in buses once the driver kicks the ignition.
I don't know, that's why I ask.
I am a Christian, hearing the word of God is refreshing for me any time, any day. And I do not abhor prayers. I say it(a lot) and it brings me peace and assurance.
In my lifetime of covering all the distance I have ever traveled by road,I have noticed that there is something remarkable about that "praise the Lord" that is echoed as soon as a driver enters gear 1. I doubt I have ever entered a bus that an open prayer was not said. Even when it seem seconds begin to linger before someone assumes the lead.Be rest assured that a "volunteer" will arise.
Some "prayers" go straight to the point and pray for safety of the journey. They sprinkle the "unfinishable" blood of Jesus on the road so any mishap will be avoided. Someothers take it upon themselves to break ancestry curses, bless destines, heal the sick and raise the dead just because there is an assemble of passengers cum congregationers in their audience.
I don't know if I would say woe-bi-tide thee if it's a new convert or an overzealous preacher that is taking the lead. They would shame you for not singing and "amening" in the loudest tone possible. These category of people readily turn into a preaching topic any attitude or thing they deem incompatible with their staunch faith. The confidence they exhume will make you see that indeed God did not give them a spirit of timidity.
And I wonder, is the same cabashing done in airplanes? To think that the fatality rate of a plane crash is far higher than that of car accidents. It is logical to think that it is them that should make more endeavors to "commit their journey into the hands of the Lord".
One can say it's assumed that plane passengers are from different religious backgrounds. That's okay,it's logical. Then why can't we give bus passengers the benefit of the same assumption.
So why the contrast? I don't know, that's why I ask. Maybe the passengers are more guarded( I do not know if this is the right word) and therefore respect the spirituality (not religion, spirituality) of other passengers. Or maybe they believe that a silent prayer is as efficacious as a group prayer of people lumped together who are heading to one destination.
Hundreds of airplanes fly the skies everyday and thousands of cars ply the roads. The number that ends up recording a mishap of any severity is almost statistically insignificant.
So in all,God still protects us all. One can say the "G-protection" is ever present.
But we must do our bid as humans to ensure our own safety.
How road and air worthy are our cars and planes?
How good are our roads?
When last did you service your car?
Is your "Check Engine" light on( it's always on abi)?
What is your Speedometer showing you?
Is the driver under the influence of any substance?
The last but not the least, how far with your village people?
