TURN UP THE RADIO.

TURN THE RADIO UP!!!

I think Radio is one of the very few free things left in our society. Sorry, radio services I mean. You subscribe for DSTV, recharge your phones but for Radio, all you need to do is tune in.

I love my Radio, I always have. Since the days of Radio Nigeria and BCA Radio to the cruise of SilverBird and Dream Fm. The jingles of the former makes one feel Nigerian. I like the new Stations too, they bring on funky vibes.

Too bad my wife never allows 'air' time at home. She said the sound makes her feel hot. Please what is the connection between sound and heat. Any sound from a radio repels her. To my wife, even world hit songs sound like static to her. News is noise. She hates Radio with the same passion I love it. I must not cause nuisance in the office so I can't turn up my Radio there either. But in my car, I play my stereo back to back. I allow my wife Radio- intolerance in the house, but not in my car. Love my Radio or hop out. My car gives me space for the perfect Radio-romance.

Oh, how I like the faceless voices. They help erase the sound of all the hoarse voices I hear around me. I like the echo of the sounds, I love the commercials, I like the Radio-drama. I love the blast of hits, back to back. I think all music stars owe their success to Radio.

I do not know the pain of the blind but Radio offers so much entertainment that does not require sight. So it has equal fun for us all. They need not see to hear all the fun in a stereo.

Radio is more than the news it broadcasts. It is more than all the announcements and music breaks. It brings the Word to belivers, soothes the broken hearted and gives us the knowledge of the pain of others. So that you may learn, so that you may help. It breaks goodnews and brings hope. Sadly too it brings bad news sometimes. It is something every society counts on both in times of peace, celebration, war, etc.

To some, Radio is a loyal friend. Always waiting to be called upon. To me,Radio is life.
