BEST ONLY WHEN BAD.

We stopped by a fuel station one day to buy fuel, and I overheard a conversation between a woman trying to patronize another woman hawking "ugba"(oil bean seed). The customer asked," "Madam, ore kwara ere ofuma? ". This translates as "hope it decomposed very well?. Mind you decompose is another word for decay. It almost sounded like an irony in my ear. A buyer confirming if the product he/she wants to buy has completely gone bad.

Then it hit me, certain things are literally good only when they are bad.

Rihanna was recently honored by Harvard University as the Humanitarian of the Year (2017) for her contribution towards the down trodden. Harvard is a great institution, I believe they cannot be swayed by money or fame. And they deemed Rihanna worthy of being honored as a kind hearted human. I love Rihanna, but I must admit that some of her works are profane, debasing and morally questionable. That should not discount every other great things about her. Moreover, may be she is in a line of career where one is best when bad. Maybe.

The Psalmist admitted being envious of the prosperty of the wicked. This is neither about prosperty or wickedness, it is about things that its best nature come in forms that are usually considered bad. Even great men that were chosen by God Himself were not without flaws. So it is not about perfection, it has never been. 

The meekness of a lamb is adorable but that does not make the might of the lion illaudable. Fierce is what a lion is by nature, it cannot be less so.

Mortality plagues the mind with caution of things that are no harm and creates a blurry line of right and wrong. A line most people define and adjust at their convenience, condemning or accepting at their discretion.

Most high achievers in their early years showed signs of eccentricity, be it politicians, visionaries, academicans, inventors, writers, entertainers, etc.Most were even considered to be renegades, but what if that was what it takes to become the pathfinders they have proven to become. Most entertainers were seen as nuisance right until they made their break through in success,then all their "nuisance" became accepted as entertainment.

Inability to stay in line could be a pointer for a new path they are destined to find. If we all continue to beat ourselves to become what is accepted as good, we would simply rob some people of their salt. Because evidently, some things are best when bad.
